I put on make up today, and finally opened that bottle of perfume gifted to me last Christmas. They’ve been sitting on my dresser for months and I don’t know, I guess I just don’t see the point of dressing up when I’m just mostly home since quarantine and if I’m not beating deadlines at work and school, i’m going after whatever Cessna demands of me. Just mommahood stuff that doesn’t necessarily requires me with coloured lips. LOL.
But you know what? Something I recently learned is that doing these little things, even making up my bed in the morning can really do a lot for my mental and emotional wellbeing. Things can really go out of control outside the little spaces we’ve confined ourselves into since lockdown and doing these little things that are within our control, are what helps us keep grounded.
Lately I find myself having a tough time navigating through unresolved emotions. One of my army moots, Pinky, told me that whenever I am in such situations, I should ask myself this question, “Is what i’m giving energy to feeding my soul or disrupting my peace?” if my answer is no, then I need to re-evaluate what, who and where I give myself to. It sounded really easier said than done, and God knows how much courage it took for me to get myself out of the shit ton of thoughts and navigate it into something more useful, and guess what, IT DOES WONDERS. It changes the way you perceive things. Our time and energy are our greatest assets. We need to choose wisely who, why, where we give it to.
Again, little things that go a long long way.
I appreciate you being here.

Reading My army moot’s third zine issue called #OKtoBE Healthy where it carries art and stories all about HEALTH. It features different wonderful creators too and one of the contributing writer on this issue is another army moot, Pinky where she talked about the 5 lessons from the worst mental crisis of her life. Everything just feels so personal about it and I love a good read that makes me feel like the authors connect on a deeper level with its readers. So excited to consume all its contents when I’m done with everything for this week.

Feeling so proud of BTS and all the things they’ve achieved despite all the racism and gatekeeping. They just finished giving their speech for the UN SGD session and I am once again in awe of how well they are using their fame for greater purposes. They gave a speech talking about how instead of calling the youth of today as covid lost generation, we should call them the welcome generation for welcoming change and continuing to forge ahead and they just brought 900k watchers to the UN SGD page to be able to listen more about sustainable development goals.
I saw this on twitter and I couldn’t agree more.
They want to use their voices for the right cause; having the power to influence generations and this power being acknowledged by important institutions, this is when you know they are the real deal.
I’m so lucky and proud to be a fan.
how are you today?
